I Shall Return
I have had many sad and unfortunate circumstances effect me over the past few weeks, hence the absence from my blog. I intend on writing more soon, though… please don’t give up on me. I shall return.

This is really amazing. The fact there is a millenial loop going. Check out the Long Player based at the Lighthouse in Trinity Buoy Wharf, London, England. It has already been playing for 9 years, and will not repeat a musical composition until 2999 AD. Learn more about Longplayer at http://longplayer.org.
The words that speakers used at the two political conventions show the themes that the parties have highlighted. Republican speakers have talked about reform and character far more frequently than the Democrats. And Republicans were more likely to talk about businesses and taxes, while Democrats were more likely to mention jobs or the economy. I found this extremely interesting.
On the night of November 15, 2008 I will be playing an event at Deepwater - a house between Gainesville and Dawsonville, Georgia. The show will begin approximately at 7:30 PM and will feature myself, the band, and hopefully a cellist. The special thing about this night is the fact that we are filming the event to produce a concert DVD out of: Nate Currin, Live at Deepwater.
I would like to invite each of you to come out and be a part of this memorable evening. The show will last maybe a little longer than an hour and feature a good deal of the new music that we are working on. Deepwater is an intimate, acoustic setting with limited space, so the event has been limited to 50 people. As of now we have about 30 confirmed guest, so if you are interested please let us know as soon as possible.

If you’re like me, that being one who is half-way into yet disgruntled with our American political system, you settled yourself down tonight in front of the television to catch the last night of the Democratic National Convention and watch Barack Obama’s acceptance speech.
Whether you are a Republican or Democrat; Conservative, Moderate, or Liberal; Right-Wing Traditionalist or Far Left Radical you have to agree that Barack Hussein Obama is just simply smooth. The guy can flat out talk.
This was my August playlist I put together to chill out too. A variety of artists all with great songs. Be sure to check out all of these great albums, as I have also taken the liberty to point out the song I added to my playlist.

I am almost finished reading this wonderful, little book, and I have to say I was so encouraged to hear what Colin Hansen had to say. Calvinism, Reformed Theology, or whatever you wish to call it is certainly making a comeback among mainstream Christianity today - and especially among young evangelicals. I for one certainly ascribe to this doctrine, but it’s not just the theological beliefs - it’s the practical living out of those beliefs.
Calvinists of the past have had a reputation, and often well-deserved of being cold, hard, argumentative, and insensitive to the needs of the lost and the world. But today’s young Calvinists, being led by a new kind of reformed theology are becoming more missional, more outreach minded, and more loving and joyful in their faith and lifestyle.
If you get a chance to get a copy of this book and read it, it will certainly open your eyes to the resurgence of reformed theology in today’s evangelical church. From John Piper to Mark Driscoll to CJ Mahaney, Hansen takes us on a journey inside the lives of today’s Calvinistic leaders who are not only reformed but humble about it. Pick up a copy of Young, Restless, Reformed and see what is making the difference.
I love Sigur Rós; they’re great. Amazing sound, soothing vocals - just my style of music. Hailing from Reykjavik, Iceland, the only thing that is occassionally annoying about Sigur Rós is the fact that every song is completely in Icelandic. Now don’t get me wrong - it’s a beautiful language, and I enjoy hearing it. But when I found Seabear I was thrilled. Here is a band from Iceland with a similar sound to Sigur Rós, and yet they perform almost entirely in English.
Right now I am hooked on Seabear’s album The Ghost That Carried Us Away, and here is a live version of their track I Sing I Swim from that album.
I love to eat. Plain and Simple: I love food. I don’t think that it was a coincidence that Paul said in I Corinthians that whether we eat or drink or whatever we do, we do it for the glory of God! The first thing he mentions is eating. And if you know me, you know how I enjoy the culinary arts.
Anyway, to my point: I was in Los Angeles part of this past summer vacationing, networking, and working on some musical endeavors. And so for my birthday, a small group of us stayed in Beverly Hills for the weekend at the Hilton there off Santa Monica Boulevard. So, for my birthday celebration dinner (the big 30 that is) we made reservations at CHAYA.
So, what is up with this? seriously… it’s like one minute you want one thing and the next minute you want something else. I can’t even take myself seriously anymore… it’s repulsive. It really is.
I am the most indecisive person in the world… well, I would rank up there with the best anyway. I get up in the morning (or the afternoon depending) and I can’t even decide what t-shirt to throw on simply to walk the dog outside and down the block to take a piss. How sad is that? Well, maybe it’s not sad, but it’s certainly aggravating to me. And why me? I can’t even decide whether it should aggravate me or not… wow, I’m hopeless.
